Chemistry Learning Center

The CLC offers resources for students, such as free evening tutoring and chemistry teaching faculty office hours.

The  Chemistry Learning Center (CLC) is located on the first floor of the Chemistry Research Laboratory Building in room CRL 157. CRL is located on the WVU Downtown campus on Prospect Street across from the Mountainlair Parking Garage.

Spring 2026 Tutoring Information

  • Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 pm
  • Tutoring available beginning Wednesday January 21 and continues throughout the semester.
  • No appointment necessary. Walk-in for tutoring and to get help with chemistry.
  • Tutoring is targeted at students enrolled in CHEM 110, 111, 112, 115, 116, 233, and 234.
  • Daytime tutoring for CHEM 233 during Spring 2026 is available as indicated below.
    • Zain Alkatrib (Mondays 9-10 am)
    • Lauren Kreider (Mondays 11 am-12 pm)
    • Ola Barghouthi (Mondays and Wednesdays 12:30-1:30 pm)
    • Cole Botzenhart, Carsen Blower, Jacob Ford, and Taylor Blake (Thursdays 6-7 pm)
  • In addition, Spring 2026 tutoring for CHEM 215 (Analytical Chemistry), and CHEM 362 (Biochemistry 1) is expected to be available at select times. Email wvuacssa@gmail.com to ask when upper-class tutoring is available each week.
