Graduate study in the department includes research in analytical, chemistry education, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry as well as in cross-disciplinary areas. Research is a key focus of the 22 faculty members and 70+ graduate students who comprise the department.

This level of research funding affords graduate students the opportunity to receive on-the-job training on cutting-edge research projects.
