Abstract: University labs across the world are making scientific breakthroughs every day. However, choosing and navigating a path to make these discoveries available for society's benefit can be challenging. Technology transfer is a field that shepherds academic inventions from the lab bench to products and services that impact our lives and the world around us. Alex Mullins, Assistant Director at Duke University's Office for Translation and Commercialization, describes her experience starting a career in academic technology transfer.
